6 Household Plants That Can Survive In Your Bathroom

Live plants are an easy, cost-effective and stylish way to breathe life into any bathroom.

Greenery and plants provide a great way to transform a mundane space into a zen oasis. Many indoor plants also have amazing air purification benefits as well, so all you really need to get started on a whole new feeling in your bathroom is knowing which plants will not just survive, but thrive, in your space.

To get you started, we’ve rounded up some of our favourite plants that you can introduce to your bathroom:

1. Air plants

These are one of the most durable plants that can withstand humidity and require no soil. Basically: You can’t screw these up, even if you try.

2. Bonsai Tree

Known for being able to survive centuries, bonzai trees are a beautiful addition your washroom and will help you get that totally zen feeling.

3. English Ivy

As much as these plants would love the excess moisture from your bathroom, they also require direct sunlight. Therefore, make sure you’ve got a bright bathroom with windows that are large enough to provide all the sunshine needed to keep your ivy in great shape. (Not to mention a beautiful backdrop for a shower with lots of sunlight!)

4. Succulents

Cacti are known for being able to stand very dry and hot environments, which makes them great additions to any washroom. They’re easy to care for and very popular right now, so you should be able to find many styles easily.

5. Aloe Vera Plant

Not only is aloe vera great for burns and your overall skin but they can also be very beautiful additions to your bathroom. Aloe plants would be great for a bathroom with a window where they can still absorb sunlight but still be on hand to soothe your skin.

6. Snake Plant

These tall majestic plants can survive in low light and filters formaldehyde – an airborne respiratory irritant. Snake plants vary in size so you can choose the perfect one to suit your space.
