The Taste of the Danforth festival offers traditional Greek foods, and this year, Danforth restauranteurs will be offering $6 “Tasting Menus” – perfect for anyone who wants to try different treats! We can’t wait to indulge in all the delicious Greek food along the Danforth.

2. “It’s All Greek To Me”

Opa! At this year’s Taste of the Danforth, you’ll have the opportunity to experience being “Greek for the Day” and break some plates! Breaking plates after a meal is an ancient (although now banned in Greece) Greek tradition. But the Taste of the Danforth is more than celebrating Greek heritage…

3. Celebrating Canada’s multiculturalism

Did you know the GTA is home to more than 200,000 residents of Greek ancestry? As the third largest Hellenic community outside of Greece, this festival gives everyone the opportunity to experience being ‘Greek for the Day’. The event is more than just celebrating Greek heritage; it’s also a celebration of Canada’s multiculturalism.

This year’s festival offers a ‘Let’s Dance’ program where you can learn different culture dances from around the world, including Greek, South Asian, Chinese, Jamaican, Filipino, Egyptian, Japanese, Mexican, Cuban, and Persian dance groups. There will also be the Miss Asia pageant, performances by 40 Bollywood danders, an Indigenous singer, a budding Italian superstar, and more!

Don’t be surprised if you find yourself rubbing shoulders with some of your favourite Toronto athletes. The Taste of the Danforth Sports Zone features activations with the Toronto Raptors, Leafs, Argos, Toronto FC, and Toronto Rock.

There really is so much to celebrate during the annual Taste of the Danforth festival! Find more info about this year’s Taste of the Danforth here! Will we be seeing you there this year?
