The warmer weather is here, and I don’t think I’m alone in rejoicing. Now more than ever, we are spending as much time outside as possible. Eating outside is always such a fun adventure, a new setting, fresh air – soak it all up while you can is my motto.
There is something to be said about the excitement of being outdoors, I don’t know if it’s the fresh air, lack of restrictions or just the feeling of a new space to enjoy an old favourite, family dinner. I am a huge supporter of family dinners and eating together. It provides a time to be connected and helps children feel loved and secure. So, pack up the food, and move it outside!
Curating an outdoor meal for the family can be simple with a few ways to prepare in advance. Cold and simple foods like sandwiches, pasta salads, egg salad are all great approaches to having food ready to go when you are. All that is left is to fire up the girl and enjoy some family time while doing so.
Feeling the crunch of the crazy work week? Set aside a day or two each week so you can prepare, this way it becomes a family dinner night you can enjoy. Dinnerware that is durable and kid-friendly, is a must! This line-up is made of thick melamine which means it won’t break when dropped – and it’s dishwasher safe! The dinnerware comes in all variations of dishes and serving platters you could ever need to entertain! And because they are so durable, you can easily use them from kitchen to bbq to table.
Waiting for the BBQ to work its magic? Why not serve some kid-friendly appetizers which are always a crowd-pleaser. We love having some popcorn for a nice, light outdoor snack. With so many ways to mix up the popcorn bowl, you’ll never get bored.
